Biography
Linda Fugate was born in Gainesville Florida. With strong family roots in Levy County, her parents brought their family back to Levy County to raise their kids.
After graduating from high school, Linda was given the opportunity to work on a part-time basis for the tax collector's office in 1984. That was the beginning of what would turn into a career with the Levy County Tax Collector's Office. When the previous Tax Collector decided to retire, Linda decided to run for the position of the Tax Collector herself. With 13 years of experience in the office and plenty of help in her campaign from her family and friends, she was elected in November 2000 and took office in January 2001.
Since becoming tax collector, Linda has made many changes to improve the Tax Collector's Office and expand the services they provide. Some of the changes are listed below:
"Making a difference through customer service" is our motto. We hope that any experience you may have with our office results in efficient and courteous customer service.
Linda has been married to Duane Fugate Jr. for 23 years and has two children, Pricilla and Trip.
